Sourced from METAD Agricultural Development, a third-generation family-owned business with a rich history that began after World War II. Aman Adinew who manages METAD returned to Ethiopia after many years working abroad at the executive level for multiple fortune 500 companies because he wanted to make a difference for his family and community. Through Aman’s leadership, METAD has strengthened the local community with employment opportunities including a workforce that is over seventy percent women, educational opportunities including university scholarships and sponsorship for a state-of-the-art elementary school - with more than 700 students, as well as healthcare for employees. METAD was the first to partner with Grounds for Health in Ethiopia to implement a successful cervical cancer screening program for women within the coffee growing communities. With an expanding out-grower program designed to provide technical assistance, share modern farming equipment, and provide certification programs for more than 5,000 local farmers who are paid premiums for their coffee and second payments after coffee is sold – it’s safe to say that METAD’s impact is vast, and is making a difference.

Smooth Authentic Coffee taste

I was gifted a portion of WuWei coffee and with just one smell of the beans, I knew this was what real coffee aroma should be. When I ground the coffee, the air in my kitchen became filled with the coffee aroma. One taste convinced me that this was a great coffee flavour. I’’m a valued repeat customer.

Great coffee

After drinking the best African coffee when I was in Morocco, I wasn’t able to find the same smoothness and freshness in any coffee I had in Toronto. Following a suggestion from a friend, I wanted to give this a try. I can honestly say that I went back to the special moment I had in Morocco. Definitely exceeded my expectations!
